Hanlan Water Project. Peel Region, Ontario. Timeframe: 2014-2017. Contract: Municipal

Hanlan Water Project

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Hanlan Water Project is the Region of Peel’s largest and most extensive municipal water main initiative. The project includes the installation of a 96-inch diameter Hanlan Feedermain and a 60-inch Mississauga City Centre Subtransmission Watermain.

Southland Technicore Mole JV contracted Wolseley Waterworks to supply valves and chamber apertures for Phase 3 of the project, as well as a large-diameter distribution line.

CHALLENGES + OPPORTUNITIES

When it comes to large, complex projects, timing is crucial. For this particular ongoing project, Wolseley Waterworks custom orders large-diameter butterfly valves, months in advance, from its trusted suppliers and ensures smooth and timely delivery direct to the jobsite. That’s where partnerships with reliable vendors such as Syntec Process Equipment Ltd., really shine.

OUTCOME

“You’re always doing what needs to be done, and that includes finding new sources. If a product isn’t available from your usual source, you’re constantly trying to update your vendor list to make sure you’ve got another source for difficult-to-come-by products. We do whatever it takes to deliver the right product for the job.”
– Brad Dunmore, Construction Sales Representative, Wolseley Waterworks Group
